Kantha Framed Earrings

A linear strand of colorful Kantha beads hangs inside a gold frame to create this simple yet statement-making look. Each piece is made from recycled Kantha textiles, so colors and patterns are all one-of-a-kind and will vary.

Measures 3″ long and features hypoallergenic (nickel & lead-free) French hook ear wires. 

The beads for these earrings are made from Kantha quilts which are a traditional textile in abundance in India. They are handmade by women artisans who are working to improve their lives through fair trade. The artists wrap scraps of the Kantha fabric around wooden beads. The wood for the beads come from scraps of wood left over from making furniture at a local factory.
